Hi all..

Finishing off my lq4 swap in my '95 c2500.. Ordering all the parts tonight to put an exhaust together.

Only done unibody car exhausts before and have always used a flex-pipe after the header to reduce stress on the flange and header.. Is that a concern with my truck? Im using the Schoenfeld swap headers and am just slip-jointing things together, no ball n socket etc.

thanks,

brett

Awful lotta work swapping to half ass the exhaust with flex...in my opinion. It will make the exhaust flow to the back of the truck tho....

Not sure what you mean by half-assin it. Im not talkin the long sections of serpentine pipe.. Its these:

. You've gotta use em in FWD applications or you crack pipes. Ive had a few brands of aftermarket RWD headers come with them in unibody applications.. just not sure if its an issue with a frame..

Ah....I thought you were talking about the **** guys use 10' of cause they either suck or have a 100$ car they're trying to limp by. Nothing wrong with those. My system has been welded solid for 12 years now, on 30 year old factory manifolds. Dont think you'll have problems running a rigid system on these trucks.

The OEM exhaust for these trucks was rigid other than the rubber hangers. Good enough.

Of course, you CAN make it more expensive and more visually-appealing; but you wouldn't need to.
