Go thru the OEM adjustment procedure first. It should have a small amount of slack with throttle closed

It does have that just a wee bit, its just not taunt as I thought they recommended. But I don't think the geometry of the bracketing is perfect and they say when given full throttle it throws the cable a little off, or makes it slack I guess without the spring to compensate for the action of full throttle.
So am I missing the point, should I get the adjuster?? Seems logical insurance and gives a little leeway for the critical postion of the TV itself ??
Thanks
Bobby V

Yes, FWIU the Sonnax spring is good insurance. If you follow the instructions from the manual, or other folks, it s/b good. I've had issues where during adjustment, when you floor the skinny pedal, the adjuster popped too far and I had to tighten it up a notch or two. Keep in mind, too tight is better than too loose! You can put a pressure gauge on the test port and see exactly what it's doing.

Odds are, you're gonna burn up that trans anyway with your 8.2L beast but, that's my opinion - I may be wrong :Big Laugh:

For once I hope you are Pete, don't forget it has been modified for performance and I also drive like an old lady, which is probably the biggest factor in its living lol.
PS
Having said that then why in the world did I opt ofr a 502HO, makes one wonder doesn't it. I should have a nice docile 2 barrel 350 with a Powerglide and air bags for SLLOOOWWWW crusing lol
But then I do like to act like a kid in his 20's once in a while so it should provide me that.

I know, I blew mine twice before I bought a phase 2, 600HP trans and I still don't trust it, ha ha. I think the hardest thing on these 700R4s is stomping on the pedal while cruising and forcing a hard down shift into a lower gear but, I don't know sh*t about these pain in the ass slush boxes, LOL.
