So i have a 3" body lift not sure what brand on the old 98 k1500. Was installed years ago by a shop so i'm not sure what was done, i'm wanting to upgrade to a 6" suspension lift and run 35"s. I want to take the bl off though because i feel it'll will look a little too high with the 6" lift and only 35"s. Im unsure of what oem parts i need to get in order to return to stock body mounts. Also what other things would need to be replaced back to stock? I know about the parking brake cable but thats about it, thanks for any help. Also first post as a member here!

It actually doesn't look too bad. I had a 99 Tahoe with that setup in looked good. But if you want to take it off, will need to shorten gas tank fill tube, address shroud, depending how they did it. Not much to it really.

I had a buddy say something about the radiator mounts would also need to be replaced, do you know anything about that?

part of the body lift is the radiator support. Not sure how it's done, but would need to lower the lower half of the shroud. I don't know how exactly, mine didn't have anything, the lower half of the shroud was gone.

Does anyone know if the bolts used for the body lift will still thread on and fit when the blocks are taken off?

I would think once you take the body lift off the shroud will go back to the right position. Just take the spacers off. I could be wrong, I’m no expert. I’d like to remove my body lift one day & replace it with a suspension lift. Plus they cranked the torsion bars on mine and I’m no fan of that.

You'll definitely need the shorter bolts, stock bumper brackets, and remove the fuel neck spacer/hose. :waytogo:

It's been awhile, but I vaguely remember some narrow steel strips between the lower shroud and core support as a bottom mounting point. I think the lower shroud was in the stock location (relative to the frame) and there were spacers between the upper shroud and lower shroud. As stated earlier, should go back to the right position provided those bits of hardware are removed. I apologize if that's wordy, once you look at it it'll make more sense!

Happy truckin'.

The body lift bed bolts are the correct length for the cab, so you can reuse those if you want.
