That's no guarantee. This is GM we're talking about. Which connector they used was less what the engineers wanted and more what the accountants bought.
Haha! True. So how do i verify i have the right part? One is a sensor and one is a sender and i made sure it was a sender.

Post the model number from the box. What brand? AC Delco? Delphi? Duralast? BWD?...whatever is out there.

That's the one by the thermostat, right? 2 wire connector. That's the one the ECU uses.

The one by the manifold/cylinder #1 engine block is the one that the instrument cluster uses. It's a single wire sender/sensor.

No it's the one on the block. One wire. Had the horizontal and vertical pin. It looked exactly like the old one.

Um...the one I put in mine had the wire integrated into the sensor. The connection is near the top of the valve cover.

Oh, I just saw yours is TBI. Not too familiar with TBI. I was helping my brother wrench on his '90 truck the other day, but didn't pay attention to that sensor.

It somehow went right over my head that yours was vortec when I saw it from the sensor. If not air in the line and all wires are good it could be a faulty new sensor. Thanks again
