have 95 gmt400 step side with less then 80k miles on it. I'm planning on adding a Denali front clip and all the molding around. the steps will either be raised to fit the molding or the more realistic option ill replace the bed with a fleet side. it came with a 4.3 in it and a manual transmission. the current plan for the motor is to go back with an ls engine or a 350 as its honestly the mtor i learned everything on with my dad on his 94 ext cab gmt400. Currently have all the parts to do the denali front swap. will update as i get more

Great potential. If it were mine with only 80K on it I would restore it and drive it. Very few original trucks still around and even fewer step sides. Welcome to the forum.

i honestly gave it a thought but i bought it for the sole purpose of going low and building a true show stopper. so gonna try and do somthing way diff. i may keep the step side and just raise the steps on dually fenders with sectioned panels.

another vote for eveready's suggestion, stock, done right it, would be a "true show stopper". :)

I would stay stock also with that low mileage and body style.

The denali thing has been done so much. I also did it back in '01. I was going to put it back to stock a few years ago when i did a frame off but it would have cost alot more.

My opinion you would be better off cleaning it up, flipping it and you could make a good chunk of cash on that truck. Then find a truck that meets your wishes a little better with a fleetside bed, v8 etc.... It will save you alot of work and money in the long run.

Good luck.
