Hey Polar good to see you kicking around! I'm getting caught back up on this site. Just picked up a K2500 Burb myself to DD. I dig the red guts in your rig! Those pristine seats are unreal, must have been old man owned.

Some updates and progress.

Finally got the engine situated. Added a brand new GM NNNNNNNNNNNNNBS engine cover. These LS engines are damned ugly and need all of the covering they can get.

Relocated the battery to the drivers side via a 96-00 SUV tray and support. This will allow me to use the factory donot truck battery cables, jump starting point and alternator harness.

Pulled the factory TBI engine harness today, to simplify for use with the LS engine harness.

Cool swap. So in '93 they were already using the 4L80e, right? Existing transmission is controlled by new 5.3 engine ECM? Early GMT 800 Silverado 2500 "LD" had the 5.3/4L80 combination, so I'm sure you will be fine stock. It was these trucks: https://www.edmunds.com/chevrolet/silverado-2500/2000/extended-cab/

There's another guy here that swapped a 5.3 in a K2500 Suburban. I think he was modding his engine somewhat.

Keep us posted after you get your truck running.

Correct. The 4L80E arrived in 1991 for pickup and suvs.

This trans is a GM certified crate trans, that has the updated internal harness. So control with the LS pcm and harness won't be an issue.

I've also created a tune file for this engine in HP tuners already. It should do well.

I've had a hard time keeping interest in this truck lately. So left it sitting for the last month or so.

Dropped the fuel tank, added a high pressure fuel pump, added the corvette regulator, built PTFE braided lines to the filter and from the filter to the fuel rail.

Replaced a bad hydroboost hose, put the LS brackets R4 bracket and new compressor on as well.

Looks almost OEM.

I look at it totally opposite - thinking those covers are ugly! Throw that in the trash and show me the actual business!!

Ordered some Kenda Klever MTs in 285/75/16. Hopefully this will get me interested in finishing the truck.

I can hear those tires!

That should give it a nice look!
