When I did this upgrade to my 94, it was the best thing I ever did.

As for parts, I would make sure you are looking at keywords like: 9.5” center, heavy duty 6 lug, stuff like that. Avoid the 10.5” 8 lug stuff.

Here’s another one: what can I do about a swaybar? I’d have to have perches mounted for a different size/style, seeing that there’s no provision for it- and I’m assuming the stock bar won’t work.

Well, today was not a good day... killed one of the old axle bearings while trying to get it out with the slide hammer. The race is still stuck in the axle tube; I’ve got a small Dremel I’m gonna try and use tomorrow to cut it out without scoring the axle tube itself. It’s always something

I got the broken axle bearing out- but boy I’ll be glad when this is done. I attempted to press in new u joints myself- Finally decided to quit while I was ahead. Taking my driveshaft somewhere that has the tools tomorrow. Parts store gave me incorrect ujoints twice anyway. BUT- the axle is bolted in the truck with the u bolt flip kit installed!

That got my attention....

Not totally sure, but IIRC, the 3/4 tons using 14 bolts in either the 9.5 SF, or the 10.5 FF did not use sway bars.

.....then I read that. My C2500 Suburban has no bar at the rear.
