Hello, I have a 1991 C1500 and ever since I bought the truck the doors would lock but not unlock. This has been baffling to me because the lock/unlock just switches polarity. At first I thought it was the switch itself but both doors will function perfectly locking but does note even make a noise like its trying to unlock.

I have the wiring schematics but have no idea where the wires actually are (which wires are the correct ones). The only thing I can think of is that maybe the previous owner messed with it. I think if I knew where the wires were I could trace them down and look for any issues.

If anyone has any useful information it would greatly be appreciated. I am perplexed.

I just fixed my door locks in my 88 C1500, they wouldn't lock or unlock. It turned out to be the switch in the passenger's door but I replaced both actuators and switches anyway (I also cleaned and greased the window tracks while I had it apart). The switches are the same part number but are wired differently. There are 5 wires going to each switch. The driver's side uses the ground path supplied by the passenger's side and visa-versa. There is no control module, they are wired directly to each other.
