Anyone knows the stock gearing into a 95 k1500 diésel 2 door Tahoe, it is an open diff, 10 bolts axle, running 33s

Want a stronger initial pull and want some towing too

I am guessing yours probably has 3.42s, but I'd check the RPO codes.

RPO codes for gear ratios: GU6 = 3.42; GT4 = 3.73; GT5 = 4.10.

Front and rear gear ratios will be the same, if they were different there would be some binding going on when in 4wd. As for gear oil nothing special is needed. I use the lucas heavy duty gear oil in my diffs. 75W90 I think it is.
have seen a lot of information on changing the gears in the rear axles. A buddy at work said if you change the rear you have to change the front also. My stupid question is, if I out 4.10 gears in the rear of my 98 K1500, what do I do for the front, buy new axles?

No need for new axles, you just need to match your gears front and rear. So if you change the rear to 4.10s, you need to change the front to 4.10s as well.

2000 k3500 auto 3.73 limited slip. Does anybody see an issue if I just change the back to a 4.10 I have, leaving the 3.73 in the front. Only would engage 4wd if stuck in seriously mud or snow. No driving on asphalt wet or dry when engaged.

IMO it's just asking for trouble by not changing both.. Even on snow, you can gain decent traction and I can't imagine the stress on the transfer case from the front trying to outrun the rear.

Gmt400 suburban 2wd axle swap to a truck as a bolt in? Like, no changes to perches, driveshaft, etc? Want to go light duty 2500 6 lug on my 1500 Silverado
