Here goes.... the sleeve with the o-ring is a tight fit to the output shaft...when the yoke is installed ..it fits into the sleeve and seals off any trans fluid from getting onto the splines and working out thru the vent hole.... the sleeve is long enough so that in regular driveshaft movement..the yoke is always in the sleeve...either the o-ring has failed or the driveshaft is not of the correct lenght...always clean with emery paper and lube the yoke to prevent damage to the o-ring... I think with flip kits and bagged suspensions..driveshaft lenghts are critical.... sorry to be long winded...been 30 years and brain is overloaded

On my bagged truck and a parallel 4 link setup I get about 3/4" forward axle movement from ride height to layed out that's with 30" bars and a 7" frame height at ride height. When I had a driveshaft built for a non airbags vehicle the shop that was building it told me when I measure for driveshaft length I was to bottom the yolk out on the transmission then pull it back about 3/4" or so. I know my truck with the stock driveshaft and aired out I can't remove the driveshaft I only get about half inch or less of movement at the most. Just in case anyone was curious about that.

My drive shaft does not move in at all when I lay the truck out, it rotates. Here is a video from under the truck as it lays out.

Can you get a shot that shows the yoke and the tail housing so we can see how far out it is?

Yes I can. Im am going out to the shop to remove the yoke housing to get to the rubber seals to replace them. (The shaft seal and the casing seal.) Will post the photo when I get back in. (a 1/2 hour or so)

Ok. I took the rear extension cased off. There is no spring, sheet metal cup or rubber seal in there.

Too many mismatched parts....mechanical speedometer drive gear...electronic speed sensor.... no sleeve on output shaft... vented yoke......if your gonna have a speedometer..gotta install the correct speed sensor rotor on output shaft....if not going to install the sleeve and o-ring assembly.... you have to seal the hole in the machining plug on the yoke.... verify that the yoke is not bottomed in the trans with the suspension collasped...

The speedo out put is two electrical wires. Black and green wire an purple and white. The cap at the end of the yoke is solid, but got a pin sized hole it it. There is no spring, sleeve or rubber seal on the out-put shaft.

Also. (As the video shows) the drive shaft does not move in or out when the ride height changes.
