I am shooting for a early 2000's 14bolt that had oem disc brakes

Can't you go up to like 2009/2010 for that axle? I think the bolt pattern changed in 10 or 11. From what I've read, the early HD 900s basically used the HD 800 chassis.

It just comes down to cost, yes those newer axles will fit the bill but they still go for close to $1k around me.

Some more progress, The front end is ready for the Dana 60. I’ve got to do some measurements for my drag link off of the

the shackle angle from what I’ve been reading could be a bit better, I’ll leave that until the end while it’s under weight to review

Set engine, trans, body and panels before trying to adjust shackle angle and pinion angle. Need the weight on the springs before final adjustments. Just my .02 But with the ORD kit, everything should be good to go regardless. They have everything pretty much dialed

Here I am pretending my metal work is a little farther along than it is. I’ve got auto body supplies on order and a cylinder I still need to fill with gas to make it all happen

here are some rough cuts

First time welding with gas, this is a fun process learning heat and wire speed control to get good penetration through the panel to the backside. I stopped while I was ahead to keep things cool and free from warping.

The next piece to the puzzle. 2002 GM 11.5” FF 14bolt out of a duramax. Scores it for $100

I’ll need to give it a thorough once over and relocate the leaf spring pads to fit the OBS frame width.
I’m wicked excited for this as I can get that frame rolling around soon enough!
