Just bought a 1997 Tahoe (2D) with a 383 stroker with Gibson LTs and a tow built 4L60E. How much power reliably can it make? I plan on doing a 411 Swap so I can use HPTuners so I can squeeze a bit more out of it, but it seems that the 383 is almost out of room with the stock 23lb injectors system? I guess this is why the marine intake is popular. Seems most think the 383 isn’t worth the money it cost to put it in, but for me it’s already in there. What should I be aware of in these engines?

For reference, I have a Turbo LS 5.3 swapped Nissan. I know a good bit about the LS, I don’t know crap about a these engines and what I can get away with, delete, modify, etc. My original goal was to find a 2D Tahoe with a blown motor/trans and swap a 5.3/4L80E, but it didn’t work out this way. Seems these are getting harder to find and many are in really poor condition. Just looking to bring this old thing back to original and have a a nice older trunk for towing.

It’s currently got a P0300 code. Bank 2 is pulling fuel (-11%), so I assume I’m not getting spark in passenger cylinders. I ordered new cap, button, wires, and plugs to start with but is there anything else I should be looking at?
