So are you running the stock driveshaft? With that much movement with air ride and things I would be checking the tail shaft for hair line cracks. I broke u joints from the shaft bottoming out in the trans, thank goodness didnt ruin trans. But sounds like something happened during your drive..

A video I took this morning (2020-03-31) of the drive shaft yoke when I let rear suspension going down. No movement.

I took the drive shaft out. I took the yoke off the shaft and poured a little fluid in the yoke. I poured out the cap at the end of the yoke. (where the u-joint connects.)
I'm guessing that the fluid was draining out of the yoke and then I did not have enough fluid to move the truck. But what I don't understand is. The last time I took her out. If I let her sit for a couple seconds, the transmission would actually work for a short bit.

The yoke is the problem, the hole should not be there... its actually a machining plug...its only made of tin..its either rotten or the yoke bottomed on the output shaft of transmission and made the hole.....replace the yoke...

I put a video showing the yoke does not hit the output shaft, and I was going to fill the small hole in the cat.

Weld the hole shut and call it good. Gm had a TSB on this problem years ago when these trucks first came out.
That should be searchable; if you have any leads on a link to the TSB that should clear up any questions and alleviate any fears. I seem to recall something like this on my old '92 forever ago; someone had siliconed up the hole and the silicone let go. It's been over 20 years ago now so memory is a bit vague. I had that truck so long it went through 2 engines and 3 or 4 transmissions before it was stolen and stripped.

I was thinking of Liquid Weld.

Richard, I have not had good luck looking up the old TSB's for our trucks. I just remember some of the ones that I dealt with as a service tech when these trucks were new to the market. At one time I had a binder with all of the TSB's that were issued while I was working at the dealership but unfortunately I cannot find it.

I had this issue with one of my personal trucks years ago and if I remember correctly the fix was to replace the yoke under warranty. The part for my truck was on back order and I just MIG welded the plug in the yoke while I waited for the part to come in. It stopped the leak and lasted 30 years so I never did install a new yoke.:waytogo:

How is that you people think a hole MADE at the time of manufacturer is a "leak"? There is SOMETHING ELSE THAT HAS LET GO, maybe a seal, or the bushing??? The hole is a VENT! This isn't something I'm guessing at...
