Torque converter bolts

I’m pulling my motor in my 98 k1500 and I can’t for the life of me get the torque converter bolts out I’ve tried heating breaker bar impact gun I don’t know what to do now any help is appreciated

Are the bolts rusted? Are the bolt heads in good condition or chewed up? I take it both the engine and transmission are in place?

My first thought is to get the most snug-fitting socket you can and use an impact. If they're cross-threaded all the way down (I used to work with a guy who did that kind of crap), the impact is the best chance of getting them out intact. Don't try to hammer them out in one long go, back them out a hair, tap them back down, take them out further, etc. until they come out.

That said, you're saying "torque converter bolts", and I'm wondering how to get an impact gun straight on them. A wobble socket is asking to break either the bolt or your knuckles. My second option would be to spray as much PB Blaster/Kroil/hydro-diesel mix I could on the bolts and use a boxed-end wrench double-wrenched. I'd say to use a cheater pipe, but it's too easy for the wrench to slip sideways in the pipe.

pull the motor with the converter attached. then you can get em out.

I tried that I can’t get the motor and trans to separate I don’t know how to get the right angle or height to get them to separate. I’ve never tried to pull a motor with the converter still in place maybe I’m doing it wrong

I’ve left some PB blaster soaking on it for a few days now. The motor was replaced with a jasper reman 3 years ago so I thought it wouldn’t be this hard

may be best for you to trailer it to a shop. if you have engine ready to pull, except mount bolts, it should be really cheap and will (should) insure no damage to transmission or converter, or even engine and other.... figure an hour labor to have the engine sitting on the trailer. dont try to save money (cheap shops) here as it will cost you more in the long run.

Get the transmission angled up, and shake the crap out of the engine while you're pulling the hoist forward. Use prybars as needed.

I was thinking I’d just take it and have them take the bolts out for me and if I could, I’d like to watch and see how the heck the got them out
