I ran 32x11.5s on 8" rally's on an old 92 Blazer I had. Looked great and didn't rub. Tried 33s, but where too big, without cranking a mile. I had a 96 Centurion, had to swap tires from another vehicle for an alignment, put 35s on 10" hurricanes. Looked kinda cool, but would rub with the slightest turn of the wheel. Bigger tires on these trucks is all about wheel offset. On a stock wheel could prolly run a 295/75, maybe even a 315/75 depending on the tire.

Just tried to put 255/85r16 Toyo M55s on my truck and they woulda fit but rubbed. 235/85r16s fit like a glove.

Are you going to crank the torsion bars? Aftermarket keys do nothing at all. If you're going to crank the t bars on stock rims 285s easy if you aren't 285s and trim.

Is your truck stock? I have a stock 97 k2500 and am shopping for tires. I'm considering 235/85r16s. Is the narrow width noticeable?

Im running 285/75r16s on a 16X8 rim with 4.25 BS, Aftermarket keys cranked about 2 inches just about a finger thickness of the upper a-arm touching the droop stop, not rubbing and rides good.

I ran 285/75/16 Duratracs on stock height for a few years.
No rubbing at all but they tore the brand new bushings up pretty quick.
Front end geometry and Z heighth are real critical on these trucks.
If you just put big rims on it and dont deal with that?
You aint gonna be happy.
Its like driving a bowl of Jello
Plus, dont listen to the knucklheads.
You can tear the whole frontend right the furk off that truck
