The transmission shifts normally when I am in 2 High or 4 High but in 4 Low when I put it in the OD position the tranny stays in first unless I manually move the shift lever to the 2nd gear position then it upshifts to 2nd. It will not go to 3rd though when I move the shift lever to the 3rd or OD positions. Any ideas what the cause would be? Truck is a 1996 GMC Sierra 5.7 liter automatic with the floor mounted lever for shifting into 4 wheel drive.
