I'm pretty sure that the RamJet is 99% Vortec.. Probably only has the 3 pin 1x cam position sensor inside.

It looks to me like it has the ICM connector and mounting screws. Doesn't the Vortec have the external ICM?

It looks just like the distributor off my TBI, but the ICM PN is slightly different. Wondering if I could buy it, swap ICMs with the Delco that's on the truck now, and run it?

Or go with the DUI, which looks like it gets great reviews everywhere. Just a bit concerned that they want me to also buy three coil and re-gap plugs. Seems like I could really start chasing my tail on that one.

I’ve used Performance Distributors products since the early 80s when Mr Kelly (Davis) ran the show. Back then, he was THE HEI guru (hence the D.U.I.- Davis Unified Ignition) and a fellow drag racer. I’ve heard he passed (not confirmed) and that son Steve runs the company now. It is said Ms Pat (Kelly’s wife) is still involved with the company.

Unless something has changed recently, I feel you will be pleased with their products.

You can always buy just the distributor and can add coil and plug gap later, as I’m sure it’s part of their (now) marketing and also used to get full potential from the distributor. Back in the early 80s they were some of only a very few that had a hotter coil for the HEI

Yeah, but the problem is that Jegs' website states that it ships from the manufacturer. In talking to Delphi, they don't have these anymore. That's the problem I've had with all the sources I try; they all say they have some but then they don't.

I found that one, but also found it listed on Amazon here: ACDelco 19179575 GM Original Equipment Ignition Distributor, Remanufactured https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001S34JP0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_NCXsEbD7Y0YX8

That poor of reviews, to me, says "steer clear".

FWIW, I fired off the parts cannon and ordered the DUI from Summit. Here's hoping this fixes the issue...
