Got a 92 4.3 tbi that wont start even after replacing spark plugs, starter, fuel pump, did the timing, and distributor (all of it). I don't know what else it could be. it does crank but doesn't want to actually start. Help me out.

Does it have spark? Tested with a HEI spark tester? Does it have fuel pressure? (verified with a pressure gauge)?

Just to add to the previous post, make sure it's getting fuel too. You may have pressure with nothing coming out of the injectors, so pop the air cleaner off and have a buddy try to start it, you should see pressure on the gage (10-13 psig for TBI IIRC) and there should be fuel spraying out of the injectors into the intake manifold. If that checks out, move to checking spark on all 8 cylinders. If you have fuel and spark, it's likely a timing issue, could've set timing 180* off...

If its getting fuel and you don't have spark check out the ignition coil. Did the new distributor come with an ignition control module? If not, that could be suspect too.

What's the history on it? New truck to you? Was it running before? Why did you change the distributor? Could be off 180 as pointed out.

Start with the basics: fuel, spark, air, compression. If it was running before, it's not very likely it's air or compression, but you can't rule it out until you check. If it's a vehicle with unknown history, this is more important to check.

This may help: https://troubleshootmyvehicle.com/gm/4.3L-5.0L-5.7L/how-to-troubleshoot-a-no-start-1

If it’s not a rust bucket fix it up, enjoy it and have fun with it. Maybe one day you can get a 5.3 ls swap in it. It’s an Obs gmt400 there sometimes painful to deal with but if it’s not a complete junk box it’s worth fixing.

What do you mean by "wiring up extra gauges"? These are basic tests that can be performed with external testing tools. You can test vacuum and fuel pressure with a $20 kit from harbor freight, same with spark and compression. If you're hard up for cash you can usually borrow some of these diagnostic tools from a parts store like auto zone for free if you put down a deposit.

If it hasn't run for 5 years, there's likely a bit of troubleshooting to do, but start with these basics, watch some YouTube videos on how to do them properly, and be patient. Do all of the tests before you decide to change anything further. Once you do these tests you'll find an area to narrow in on and you can do more specific tests to find the component or components that have failed.
