Hey, so, I have a 93 GMC K2500 Suburban. I have isolated an ABS problem to a front wheel speed sensor. I can’t find a new one anywhere!!!!! Auto parts stores only show to have the one that goes into the t-case. RockAuto shows some for the front but they are not the right ones. Mine take two bolts and have about a 1.5 inch curved magnet. In the Chiltons manual it shows one picture of what I need in an unrelated section...I’m at a loss. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I searched the forum and didn’t find anything related, so please don’t beat me up to bad if I missed it somewhere.

Also, I don’t have the kind that are built into the hubs and yes, I’m sure I have 4 wheel ABS

Yeah, mine bolt to the backing plate with two bolts just above the exposed reluctor wheel.

I thought 3 channel ABS started around 95/96? How do you have a front wheel speed sensor?

No idea, but it’s there...vin shows 93, door panel shows built in January of 93...I tried looking at sensors for all year models between 91-98, every time rock auto or any other parts website shows one, it’s the single bolt one like a newer truck takes.

I think for the most part nobody is listing it because nobody has it in stock.

Well ain't that some ****. A 3rd ABS system I never knew existed. Sorry for the jack, but could you post a pic of your ABS pump?

Now we know why all of the replacement CV shafts have that reluctor on them that most of us have to remove.

I wonder if the newer sensors are electrically compatible... maybe just swap hubs and use the sensors that we're all used to and carried commonly by the parts suppliers. Usually the hubs come with the sensors.

I bet it would work if the resistance is the same and the gap compatible

It's just be some wire wound around a magnet and some iron. As long as the resistance is the same and the gap can be set to properly jiggle the field, it should work.
