I have a 95 silverado with the 6.5 and a 50kp auto trans with a bad flex plate.
So question is can i use a 454 flex plate ?

Here’s a question..I’m getting ready to change flexplate..in my 6.5 TD ....do I have to pull the transmission all the way out..this my very first time dealing with an automatic transmission.

NO. you will have to slide the tyranny back far enough to be able to fit your hands and tools in there.

. I’ve got the transmission slide back removed the plate and it been sitting for a few months.. what’s the best brand flex plate to buy or top quality

Any of the brands of flexplates are fine. Put 7 inch bolts in the 2 bottom holes in the bellhousing, unbolt the trans crossmember and slide it back enough to get a torque wrench on the flexplate bolts. Shim the starter if needed BEFORE putting the trans back up. It is at least 15,962 times easier that way. 4L80E tyrannies are HEAVY!
