Tapping/ knocking noise on start up

Need some help. Got a tapping noise on my 97 Chevy K1500 5.7l vortec 280k on it with no codes. Happens when I start it up and will generally go away after driving it a bit but can come back sometimes any ideas?

Hard to tell from the video but it sounds very similar to when mine lost a lifter at 250000. It would knock and tap on startup and go away when revved but would start to come back when idleing....

Yeah doesn’t come back usually. People say lifters exhaust rod was spun and all

Bendix on the starter clanging back and forth .....happened to my truck somehow and sounded like this and was intermittent and would come and go between idling and driving down the road.....just a thought but I'm sure y'all are closer to right than I am on this .

pulled back covers noise is still there and nothing is loose under neath

If you see nothing loose under the valve covers then I am betting on a lifter. Maybe someone will know of a specific test .

Is it the exhaust hitting the crossmember
