As the title states, I'm curious if anyone here has experience with the EBC Yellowstuff pads on their trucks. I'm gathering parts to refresh the front and rear brakes on my '97 K1500 Suburban (JB6) and I'm seriously thinking about trying the EBC Yellowstuff pads on the front. These DP41273R models, specifically.

I'm probably going to do it regardless but I was just wondering if anyone here can share some experience/opinions on whether they're worth paying over double the price of OEM pads.

IDK, but I will say this. I did my front brakes about 1 month ago. Rotors, and pads. I try to stay away from auto zone, but after looking at adavanced and orilyes, I ended up at autozone. Well the manager has a 98 ECSLB 5.7 Silverado. He said he was running the duralast gold, rotors and Duralast gold ceramic gold pads. And I let Him talk me into trying them. I am very happy with the results. My truck stop a lot better now. Just food for though, but if you do go there, make sure to get the Duralast gold.

Thanks for the input Kenny but I'm really leaning more towards a performance/track pad. I've been doing some reading and it seems like the general feeling is that the EBCs will outperform most other options, but they have their downsides. The major complaints I've seen are decreased pad and rotor life, dust, and to a lesser extent noise. One of the reviewers in that Amazon link says his EBC Yellows only lasted 15K miles on a Tahoe, which is really my main concern about them. That's just one example though, and who knows what may have been wrong with his truck or how he was using it.

I'd like to hear more reports from people running the EBC Yellowstuff on these trucks if anyone has them. I think @shovelbill has the Greenstuff pads on his truck but he also has slotted rotors... He seemed to like them though.

Powerstop brakes are better. JMHO

Have you driven the same vehicle with both the EBC Yellows and the Powerstops? Just curious how you came to that conclusion. I believe the Powerstops are Chinese manufactured products and the EBCs are UK/US made. That's really what drew me to the EBCs shopping around today, not trying to say that country of origin is everything though.
