Since is rainy and cold, and it’s not much fun to work in the garage, I decided to work inside and get some office wall decor up. I pulled this a few weeks back, not perfect, but cleans up ok.

Fits rather nicely above the closet doors.

Looks good!!! I seen a GMC tailgate strip waiting to be put out at the local junkyard today, so I may do something similar if I can snag it fast enough!

I may have to do this with one of my old tailgate bands.

I recommend you do. 88-91 only I believe.
Yeah, they are quite uncommon. It looks to be an 88/89 due to the dual sealed beam lights, which I'll be grabbing as well. If I may ask, how did you polish yours up? Just elbow grease?

I used a Meguiars power cone kit. It really wasn’t that bad tho. That same kit worked wonders on my nerf bars though.

That looks sweet, I may have to pull one and hang it up on the garage wall. Good memorabilia piece.

Aah, I remember reading that you done that in one of your earlier posts. I'll remember to pick one up if I can snag that tailgate

Well I guess I’ll pick up where I left off. I finally got the rest of the buckets blasted and then painted them. I also blasted a couple sets of metal fog light buckets and got those painted as well.

Then I proceeded to mark up and cut out the tow hook valence for the fog lights, since gm decided we shouldn’t have both options at the same time. I purchased a fog light only valence a few months ago from the dealer to use as a template, or for a planned future project...

Then I used my die grinder with a nice carbide bit and cut out the openings.

Do you have any measurements on this. I want to do this to my truck?

I’ll try to get the distance from the edge of the tow hook hole. That’s the best place to measure from. This took me around 3 hours or so as there really wasn’t a consistent place to measure from anywhere. So I ended up laying a painters tape template on the fog only valence and transferring it to the tow hook valence. Was a pita.
