My wiper arms are pretty raggedy looking. I could paint them, but it sure would be easy to order new ones from Rockauto. Apparently Dorman makes/markets them..... one is $9, and the other is $19, for some reason.

Anyone here have them? Are they decent quality? Made in China?

I’d say you shouldn’t have a problem with them. After all it won’t cost you that much to try them out! They’re just wiper arms and not a long block. I say go for it. JMO

I bought them for my 94. Originally had the pin style arms from factory. Bought the dorman #42544 and 42580 with the hook type for my 94. Went on with no issue at all, and now have more wiper choices cause I dont have to find ones that work with the pin..

This is timely. Was just browsing new wiper arms the other day and remembered how much I hate those pins. Thanks for the info on the hook style.

What's wrong with the pins? I've got hooks already, as my truck is a 99.

What started me thinking on this was changing my wipers out today. I bought some el-cheapo wipers on Clearance from Menard's for 99 cents each. They didn't want to hook in correctly, so I swapped the new rubber onto my old frames. Hopefully, I'll get my $1.98 + tax out of them that way. The arms have looked ratty for awhile, and it's too cold to paint right now.... I also wonder if the springs are losing tension.

Nothing inherently wrong with the pin style attachment for the wiper except for the lack of options on wipers. Very few wiper manufacturers these day, in the mid grade to higher end wipers, make a blade that will fit the pin style with the hole in the blade attachment area.

Oh, ok.... I'm kind cheap when it comes to wiper blades, I guess. It always seemed like whenever I'd spend more (paying retail) on wiper blades I wasn't really getting anything more and they kept getting more expensive. I actually got more expensive blades for the Saturn recently, but on a Black Friday Special so I got a really good deal.

GMT400 '95+ wiper arms have a stiffer spring (keeps the blades against the glass better) & park lower on the windshield than the earlier versions.

I don't know if trucks ever got them, but I miss the hide away wipers that cars used to get.

I notices on my last arms and I wouldnt have except I had the new ones out, that there was quite a bit of wear of the plastic part where the pin is located. No doubt it caused sloppy operation.
