I have a 92 that I put in a blue digital dash. I wanted the heater controls blue as well. I watched a video that showed how to get the heater controls apart. The guys said that there was no way to change the color of the heater controls due to them being green leds or something. Well I accepted the challenge and took a extra one I have apart to see and I do believe that I CAN change the color. Plastic is on order and once I am finished I will post the pictures and if it worked or not.

Yep all you need is colored plexiglass or something similar, I've used clipboards and little sheets of plexiglass

As far as the buttons all you need are I think the neo 4's from superbrightleds, they're a drop in replacement

I though I had a pic but I don't so if I remember to take one I'll post that.

My Dakota Digital dash came with both blue and teal options. I went with the blue one. I'm interested in how you do it.

Here's mine, Removed the old green plastic screen and put blue plexiglass in it's place. Also have blue LED's in the buttons.
That looks so good. It would be cool if you were able to keep the red on the hot side of the temp button, but I much prefer that blue over the tired green overall.

I believe that button has its own bulb, leaving it white should keep the red and blue temp bar. I have been thinking about doing this same mod but with red plexiglass since the interior of my truck is all red.

Thanks guys

Yes there are three bulbs total, 1 for the temp bar and 2 that are shared between the other buttons. So you could get a white led and use it in the bar if that suited you. Any colored led is going to wash out the painted color on the bar.

Well since the faceplate for my controls ended up breaking both the tabs off I had to get a new one and then redo this.. Here's a few pics.
All I did was dremel out the old green one then cut out a new rectangle from my sheet of plexiglass then set it in there and put epoxy around it on three sides. Then I put it all back together after it dried.
