Great question, I wondered this myself. Looked at both HP Tuners and EFI Live. Also watching to see if the new free system the LS guys are using with OBD modules gets expanded to work on these older units. I bought an OBDLink MX Plus on that hope. Great module to have anyway BTW.

Is there a definitive resource for 0411 swap information? That interests me too, but only if I'm not having to end up with a MIL light on and things disabled. Like ABS.

I'm curious. Is there a repository that you use with these tuners? I'd like to be able to load a segment for a manual transmission into a black box (or 0411)that is set up for an automatic trans so it doesn't throw a zillion codes is why I ask.

There use to be a ton of info on 411 swaps on gmtruckcentral.com. I don't know what happened to that site.

Have tuned my 97 Sierra (0411 swapped), my 03 Blazer, and my mom's 05 Blazer using HPTuners.. It's very handy for electric fan swaps as well, if you want the PCM to control the fans based on the engine coolant temp sensor (I've set up both my trucks this way). For a base truck without a PCM swap, I couldn't say yay or nay, but if you 0411 swap your truck, IMHO HPTuners is worth the money to be able to tune it yourself :D

We have the hptuners. Handy as we have several gm vehicles that it can be used on. My son bought it to tune his sc3800 swap into a fiero. I used it to disable the vats on our 99 suburban and 03 cavalier. And we have a 2000 Malibu if that vats gets acting up it'll get the axe too. Downside is in addition to the purchase price the $100 per vehicle to license that unit.
I'm planning on a 411 swap on that 99 burb but haven't come across an 02 express van 411 computer on the cheap yet. It needs the older engine with the 4l80e and that is what that van could have come with from the factory.
As far as the 411 swap there is a guy that emailed me a bunch of pinout info. Do a search and you will figure out who he is.
No experience with efilive but the hptuners site has downloadable tunes to try on there.

Worth it for us as son bought a Pontiac of some sort 5.3 so he has been fooling with that.

Yea if your talking about HP Tuners you can ask on their forum or dig thru their repository.
For efilive there is a dropbox link to a lot of factor tunes.

You dont have to use the exact 2002 Express van PCM. Any of the 1999-2002 PCMs will work, just do a full flash of the correct tune in it.

I guess from the reading I've done and the segment swap talk and such I just figured it would be easier to have the computer with the "right" architecture to start. I have the 99 7.4/4l80e and 4x4 so there is a bunch there to fool with to get the thing to work.
I've come on several 411 boxes at the wrecking yard. I guess I could pick one up and see what is in it before I license it.
