I globbed a bunch of muffler cement in there today. Will fire tomorrow to see if it worked. Long term plan has shifted to something more along the lines of v bands.

Me Love V-Bands! I put them on my Fuel filler hose, Exhaust, Cold side from Turbo, and even used a Oring Vband on a coolant 'hose', we made it out of stainless to replace the upper radiator hose..

So yesterday I was chugging along with the trailer when a flutter on the dash caught my attention. It was check gauges. Oil pressure said zero, great, so I killed the ignition and found a place to stop. Had a half a quart in the truck and stole a quart of SAE40 from the trailer and oil pressure was good to go so I unloaded the trailer and headed home. Oil was just touching the stick at this point and I managed to forget to get more. I shoved off for work this morning and noticed the oil pressure gauge fluttering so I grabbed 2 quarts from the gas station and was again back up to the stick so I headed home with now subpar oil pressure. I contemplated for an hour or so what to do as the 1500 was down a tire. O decided to tire hunt for the 1500 and later remembered I had 2 gallons of Rotella so 3 more quarts went in to top it off. Oh ****. Well oil pressure is back to normal and it's no longer puking oil like mad?

Here's what I woke up to. It soaked the frame so bad yesterday this is what dripped off overnight. It left a puddle at the gas station and it left a puddle in the street when I got back. When I refilled it it quit leaking and when I drove it after that it was fine. Knowing that I do have substantial blowby, I thought it smart as a proof of concept to further vent the crankcase to see if this would help.

Here's the can in the Camaro, can you guess what I used in the dually?

I may very well still be on the hook for a rear main seal at this point, hopefully it's no worse than that. No lifter noise, no oil pressure loss, no nothing from damn near running the thing dry so far. Fingers crossed.

It was looking pretty sad with the old hitch.

The new stance is a bit more proud.

Just popped in to say. These pics made me happy. Crazy to see what these pickups can handle.

Had something similar happen a month or so ago on my way home from work in my Jetta. Coasted into a gas station, bought 4qts of oil and proceeded to pour them on the ground. The attendant was less than pleased with me. Car came home on a rollback. The drain plug had loosened, and fell out of the pan.

I guess I shouldn’t use the oil evacuation pump without checking the plug. Good news is I doubt I’ll ever have to worry about the underside rusting. Sure would have hated to be behind me on the highway while this was happening.

And while it's not catching oil, I certainly hope it's venting the crank better. I didn't see any of rings on the dipstick itself, I wonder if they're in the pan or if they exist at all? Seems that's where it's coming out and blowing all over the place.
