Somewhere along Red Oak Rd. North of Harpers Ferry Iowa. This path was the lesser of two evils. The right side of the road was washed out with a two foot deep hole.

Roasted the 4l60e by myself in the middle of nowhere with no cell phone service.

I made it to the shop to put mine in storage when my second 60E died, but I feel your pain here. I have a few pictures of my red truck after the second 60E died, it was down for about eight months while I gathered parts for the 80E swap.

When the 60e in my Yukon roasted (for the second time) in the middle of nowhere I had to let it cool down to regain any movement at all. Then I just had to pull over 1 hill and it was all downhill back to pavement. Then when I ran out of hill I was still stuck without cell service and my phone died.
Then some girls on a 4 wheeler pulled up and offered me a beer, a smoke, and a phone to use. Called for a tow truck. Then it sat in the road for 5 months while I pissed around deciding what to do with it. Now its on its 4th 60e.

A roof rack is on the to-do list.

First I want to say thanks! I have lurked and read on a lot of others issues to get mine right.

Trying to decide what to do... Bought in January the second day I owned it I started it and had a rod knock. Lost all the oil on the 40 mile drive home. Oil pressure gauge was bunk.

Bought a 90k mileage motor from a 99 suburban replaced all seals on it and threw it in drove great but had two different suspensions from and rear. Was wanting air ride so wasn’t interested in throwing the new front springs that came with it on(that was my down fall).

Carnage

do I part it out.... or find another body for it??

through a reg cab pickup body on it(easier to source)
What do you say? Pm me

Just seen this section. I don't think I have enough time to dig thru my pictures but I have alot of stuck pics. No carnage.
I have front and rear winchs on my tahoe and they come in handy.
Got a call one day to see if I could pull a F250 out. I said sure if I have something to hook too.

F250 with lift and 38s...

4 other trucks tried to get him out with no luck.
Quite a few snatch blocks and something to anchor to and it come on out of there.

Then something happened that night and he had to spend $8200 on his fuel system. Water or mud and gotten in his fuel and caused all kind fun stuff to happen.

You can make some good side cash if you have a winch and a lot of recovery gear.
His tractor wouldn't pull it and his f250 wouldn't either. So there's another easy $100 for a 45 min recovery.
