Sorry for all the questions. Any recommendations for a carb replacement for my 1988 k1500 4x4 350 automatic?

I have searched jegs and they have a few. Didn’t know if anyone had a preference. Looking for better mpg if possible.

i am going to remove smog pump once I do headers.

Thanks so much all

What do you mean "stock replacement carb?" These trucks were not carbed from the factory. You should have a throttle body.

If you're talking about swapping to a carb, don't.

I’ll be dammed. it looked like a carb just from how the air filter was. It looks similar to a carb, but has 2 top injection ports of sorts.

Im getting 10mpg, so looking to improve that.

The vacuum line to a canister on front drivers side appears to not connect to anything after that canister. Any ideas where that is suppose to go?

I'm going to replace all the vacuum lines and maybe do a gas filter.

guess no new stock carb lmao

The CC (Charcoal Canister) vacuum line goes to the bottom of the Throttle Body beneath and to the right (looking at it) of the PCV Valve line which is above and to the right of the line that splits and goes to the A.I.R. (smog pump if you have one) valve and the EGR solenoid mounted on the passenger's side of the TB.

thank you,
I am missing a line going off the right side of the charcoal can. I recently got a rough idle with code thrown for egr short and rich pass side. I have a new egr and solenoid(not installed), but maybe because there isnt even a vac line to it. Any idea what size line I would need?

code for rich pass side? you have o2 sensor on pass side? cant say what size the line is. its small, but, you will need the L shaped end pieces that connect to the TB and the solenoid. probably be easier to get one from the wrecking yard. oreillys does have the hard line in a roll (maybe 6 feet?) for iirc $6. the ends are harder to find. dont use vacuum line, it will get soft and colapse when under negative pressure.

I got code 45 and 32, but light comes and goes random as does rough idle. I have new o2 sensor on drivers side, I have to check but I didnt see a pass side o2 sensor. Maybe the code list I read was incorrect. Thanks for the tip on getting hard line, hopefully The L’s are still on the TB.
Dude who I got truck from said shop disco the line to get to pass emissions which makes little sense to me. Id say once a week the rough idle happens and the codes intermittently while driving.

truck no longer needs to pass emissions. Just wanted the few times it idled bad to go away

there is a part that should be changed every so often. it will cause anything from random poor idle to all out artillery fire inside the engine! lol it is called the ect. coolant temp sensor located beside the thermostat. cost about $20. at first sign of rich or lean running for no apparent reason, i change this part. after all, you probably havent so you probably need too! ?

man, you guys that have to worry about emissions testing have it rough. i would move to America!

You can use vacuum line to replace any of the hard lines on TBI emission system. There is not enough "negative pressure" to collapse the lines.
