I'd like to know if I can fit a GMT800 5.3 engine cover on my TBI engine. 5.7 obviously. Would it be as easy as undoing the bolt on top and placing the engine cover on and screwing it through the hole back in?

If I ever get a vehicle with an engine cover I will likely remove it. I can't imagine trying to swap one onto an engine.

I must say I fully agreed with this until I got a car with a GDI engine. That high pressure fuel pump is crazy loud without the engine cover in place.

I can relate to that one. Nothing like people telling you need to put oil in your engine every other day. Tap, Tap, Tap. The fact it was a V8 just made it worse.

Indeed. It's really nerve racking when you put a brand new engine in a car and hear the HP fuel pump ticking like no other. And then you remember the foam insulation left on your work bench!

Mine did not care if the insulation was there or not. Even with a 2.5" dual exhaust with magnaflow magnapack mufflers you could still hear the injection pump and injectors at 70 mph in the car.
