I bought it in '99 with 17K miles for $17K.
It's got 311K miles on it now.
Transmission is only major repair.
It gave up at 211K.
All original except dual exhaust with Flow Masters.
It still gets comments and compliments and the occasional "do you want to sell it?".
Which the answer is no.
I'd hate to buy a late model. My paycheck hasn't increased in direct proportion to the price of a new truck.

Man thats kewl. I have a 97 regular cab, sportside. I am the original owner. It doesnt leak or burn oil. Only bad,, clear is peeling so its at the paint shop now. Yeah, I hear you. I started looking around pricing new trucks and decided to leave my savings alone and put some money into old red.
Nice looking truck you have there.

Beautiful truck. Nice to see that you've kept in original condition. I like mods, but it's nice seeing one every now and then in it's original state. GM knew what they were doing when they designed the look of the 400s.

Really nice truck!

Amen to the ridiculous prices. Wages haven't increased, but yet the prices seem to keep on going up, doesn't make any sense.

Sharp looking truck! Its bard to find a truck as clean as yours, especially for how many miles you have put on it!
Being as young as I am, it's hard to comprehend how much prices have increased, especially when these trucks were new.

Same here, can't believe how cheap these trucks were when they were new back then vs. today's new trucks, more than triple of what these costed. My 98 was estimated to be almost $20K back in April of 98. Quite a price difference 20 years ago.

Agreed, I used to have the window sticker for my 96, the MSRP was $28,390, but that was also a loaded truck, plus a conversion. Even just a loaded 2019 chevy is almost $70,000

My dad bought my ‘98 with 7 miles on the odometer. Michigan winters have taken their toll, but it’s slowly getting repaired to what it once was.

Yours looks great, but I am partial to red lol
