Truck fired up today, so no other parasitic draw to worry about. The column didn't gave any shift linkage though. Time to shift focus to this weekend's upcoming race. Camper needs batteries and a propane refill. Hoping my brass Tick shifter bushing arrives in time!

I’ve got at least one of the visors that occasionally stay lit. Battery will be totally gone in within a few days. Hoping I can find some replacements in the boneyard but they seem to go quick.

Hit the junkyard today and got most of what I need to get this thing road worthy.

Got it all on but the shifter. I need to know how to get that little cable off that unlocks the shifter when you turn the ignition. I grabbed a shifter assembly from the junkyard as this one had been strangely destroyed. When I grabbed the replacement, I was sick of being rained on so I just ripped the little cable out. The one on the flipper is still good, just need to transfer it to the new shifter.

Gonna hit the junkyard again tomorrow, some clean, low mileage 2500 leaf packs are calling my name. The 5+1 in my 1500 now has less arch than the 4+1 it replaced and so ride has been a bit low since last September. This one has all the pads intact and is from a super clean, rust free CA truck.

Disregard the cable question, I mish mashed the 2 shifters together and confirmed that the shifter cable is also ******. It looked ******, but its lack of function confirms my suspicion. Truck is MUCH happier with the MAF participating, I finally found the right 454 elbow to get it all hooked up. So I'll head back to the junkyard tomorrow for a couple more small bits to get this on the road and start refining it. As of now if has cats only, muffler needs about a foot more pipe to be hooked up. Sounds good and redneck. Got a fan and shroud on, heater hose doesn't puke water, ps pump topped off, brake fluid reservoir that doesn't leak, a shifter that kinda works, truck is much better now and will improve tomorrow.

So I installed the 454 elbow, fought with the shifter cable, and the driver's door handle and got the damn door opened again. I need to figure out what exactly is the cause of it not working right when I install the interior handle. For now, the truck holds water, fires instantly, doesn't stall, and wouldn't move last night cuz the trans was over a quart low. I had enough juice on hand the make the truck move, but it still wasn't registering on the stick so I'll hold off for that sweet, sweet test drive where the shifter and brakes are 100%. I think I can make it back out there on Thursday. Typically the truck is on the way home from work, but for the last few weeks work has been in an alternate location hence the lack of progress on this thing. It's at the top of the list to get done and gone as good of a truck as it is.

Got lucky on the throttle pedal/cable swap, PO punched the knockout to run wiring for Banks gauges in the exact location of the gasser throttle cable so all that just snapped right into place. Also got the fuel filter installed. Turns out the 6.5 lift pump has a smaller diameter than the gas fuel filter.

454 was a 99 and 6.5 was a 98 so same wiring generation, just different schemes. If I get this wiring nailed I can fire this thing up and take a stroll.

@JSlezak83 , I think I have all the diesel info I need, can you snag a pinout for the gas plug circled in blue? I turned the headlights on the other night and both blinkers lit up solid. I'm going to swap for a gas cluster this weekend, hoping that clears it up. If not, I'll probably be looking your way to sort out that mess. The only diesel wiring left on the truck lives under the dash and I'd prefer to keep it that way if at all possible. I also don't want to start chopping until I'm sure of what's what.

What am I looking at there? Is that the IP harness near the heater core? I’ll dig around in the manual tonight after work.

IP? It is near the heater core. It's the plug that comes through the firewall in that area.

Sorry, I got busy at the end of last week. Hope I didn’t screw your plans too bad. Had a last min camping trip pop up, and I forgot to snap the pics.

IP = Instrument Panel.

I’m not sure this is what you are looking for, but here’s the C200 connector, which I believe is what you are after.

You would have had to do some repinning here, because these two aren’t even close between the Diesel and Gas models. I don’t see the connection here with the turn signals, but maybe the wires play into the turn signal / brake / hazard switch. Let me know if you need the schematics for that.

Thank you! I chopped off a connector at the junkyard to solder in. Repinning won't do because both connectors have male pins. I have a manual at home with schematics, it just leaves out the pinouts. My plans went sideways last weekend, so no biggie I do appreciate the help!
