4l80e swapping my K1500

If it's redlining at 60mph, you're in 2nd gear. If your trans has no power, it will default to 2nd gear. I have 410 gears and metric 33s and don't redline in 3rd. 2nd goes to 77mph WOT upshifting into 3rd.

I guess the transmission is shot guess I'll either go back with a different 80e maybe back with a 60e only decided to do this because i had a 80e

You didn't read what I posted. If the trans does not have power, i.e. 12V, then it will default to 2nd gear.

So why do i feel it shift 4 times?

Can you post a video pointed at the tach of it shifting 4 times but still redlining? If it's shifting 4x and sitting at redline at 60mph, that's some **** right there. It should sound like a 5 speed as it goes 1, 2, 3, 4, tcc lock.

It won't let me post videos but there is definitely 4 shifts waits till 4k plus rpms to shifts and shifts so hard into second it barks a tire

Oh, so it's waiting to shift. Do you have any way to check the TPS? Either with a scanner or a multimeter?

I have one from my parts truck i can pop on it

So you're gonna swap out your TPS? Make sure to disconnect the battery for a bit too so the trims get deleted from the PCM. That'll start you from ground zero there. I assume the RPM signal is good.
