So I have procured everything mentioned above, including the LS6 springs, and Cloyes 3 way single row true roller timing set. Have not pulled trigger on a TC, as I'm still not sure whether to go OEM or AM. Also, have not moved on the ramjet intake; this looks like another upgrade down the road likely. Have not installed anything yet, but I've got the motor back out of the truck and on the stand. Maybe I can get the cam installed this weekend.

Why not a 4.3 torque converter? Fast can speak to where they stall behind a V8.

Question on the Ls6 springs, is the seat pressure ok for the 151 cam?
I never saw this question. Will go ahead and respond. The LS6 springs have a substantial bump in seat pressure when installed at the SBC 1.75" rather than the LS 1.8". Also the LS6 spring delivers a substantial bump over the factory Vortec springs GM uses with the 151' cam in the SPO 357 HP 350.

OK, so I have the cam installed and degreed, as well as comp 26918 springs, 787 retainers, and 648 locks, scorpion rockers and 24x reluctor. The cam degreed to 108LSA, as ICL is 109 and ECL is 107. I ended up going with the comp cams 26918 springs, as the GM LS6 GM springs would not fit over the valve guide boss. The comp 26918 springs seemed to fit perfectly. Also interesting, I only had about 20K miles on this motor when I pulled it to perform this cam swap. The OE timing chain appeared to be about worn out, as it had over 0.500" slack movement. The new Cloyes timing set has 1/16" to 1/8" slack movement.

The motor is about ready to go back in the truck. Hope to have it in and running by the Spring Nationals. Will keep you updated.

The factory chains (also Cloyes) are stupid loose since they are designed to be installed by a robot on the assembly line.

I am assuming it had a link style chain and not the single roller?

That is exactly how that cam dropped in on my L31 as well. 109 ICL and it has a 108 LSA right in the GM spec sheet for the engine.
