Its weird to see a half-ton Burb with 8 lugs, anyone know what the true point of that was? I know it has something to do with the diesel, but then again, 6.5s were available in a 6 lug half-ton.

I'm it has to do with the 8050 lb GVW Rating.
8-lug half tons are called "Heavy Halfs". Lol.

I really liked that 'Burb. Got 16.8 mpg towing a 2k lb Miata on level ground.

Here in East TN (lots of hills), it only got 16-18 mpg unladened. Loaded down, it only got 10-12 mpg in these hills. Probably would have gotten better mileage towing if it had 3.73s or 4.10s.
The 3.42 gearing did NOT like the 5k lb Jeep & 2k lb trailer.... NOT AT ALL!!!!

I only sold it to get a 2500 GMT 800 'Burb when I determined the injection pump was going south......
But I ended up buying a '95 K2500 454 'Burb instead. Lol....
Those GMT 800 2500 'Burbs are just too expensive.

I think that is a mislabeled 2500, or someone swapped the 2500 badges for 1500. But I like the heavy duty two package with 3.42s lol.

That's weird how the heavy half Burb's were 8 lugs, and the heavy half trucks were 6 lug. I don't know what GM was thinking back in the day lol.
