Just thought I'd report my results, yours may vary. When I first installed this the rear of the truck was way lower than the front. I hated it. I know you young buckeroos like your trucks to drag tail, but I don't. So I used a 1" lift shackle in the rear and did big N' little tires. 225/75/16 in the front, and 265/75/16 in the rear.

I also began with aluminum NBS 8 lug wheels. They have a different offset from these trucks so when I slammed it, the lower control arms needed a liberal amount of clearancing and a 1/4" spacer. With the spacer, the tires rubbed the fenders (245/75/16 is what it had on it, hence the change to the 225s.)

I decided to punt the aluminium NBS wheels in favor of some steel wheels with nubs to run the old square body 12" hubcaps. 16X6 in the front, and 16X7 in the rear. This solved the backspacing problem on the front so I eliminated the spacers, but the fatty 265s starting rubbing the fender lip a bit, so I clearanced that with a death wheel.

It was problem riddled, but I think I got it dialed in, I wish it sat just a tad lower in the front. The springs are the same ones in a 454, so since mine is a 350 perhaps there's not enough weight in the front to get it down more. In other works, the small block trucks may ride higher with the same springs.

Looks awesome!

If your planing on keeping the SBC, you could always start cutting links off the coils to get the front lower. Start with 1/4 or 1/2 coil see how it looks and keep trimming until its at your desired height. Just dont introduce too much heat, a Sawzall with a good carbide blade works the best.

I love the look of the wheels with the little hubcaps. You plan on keeping it 8 lug? I converted my 3/4 ton crew to 6 lug when I did my 4/6 DJM drop.

Yeah, I'll keep it 8 lug because I'm happy with the wheels and caps. I would consider a 6 lug conversion if I couldn't find wheels I liked.

I take it you used the 3" drop spindles along with coils up front..?

I'm planning on dropping my 2500 burb, but can't find any info on whether the 16" wheels will fit them spindles
