The biggest issue with a diesel swap into the gmt400 platform is the intercooler. It takes a lot of fabrication to mount a cooler on the front.

So if you can find an engine that didn’t use an intercooler, that would be your best bet.

With a body lift you’ll have plenty of clearance for most transmission and engine combinations.

That’s a really good job, looks super clean. I’m doing a duramax swap in a suburban and the intercooler from the duramax is in no way going to fit without major modifications.

Did you need to modify any of the front lights? And what radiator did you use?

Thanks man.Used a w/t grille, fit with no modifications. It fits in the regular stacked headlight grille with a little clearancing on the marker lights.
The radiator is for a 454 truck.little bit taller, have to use different radiator hold down brackets.

Aha I didn’t even think about using a w/t grill that’s a good way to go.

I used the radiator out of the duramax and it fits the core support nicely, but the intercooler is an issue.

I’m thinking of getting a small intercooler and mounting it where the plastic skid plate is behind the front bumper.

I intercooler my 6.5 behind bumper.

I am think fiat 3.0L 4cyl TD.

I'm my promaster it gets up to 40mpg high flats at 62 mph ac on. Decent torque and the pickup would be much nicer with a real automatic. 6l80e maybe.
