Recently when I am driving the Suburban at around 45-50 if I keep pressure on the gas peddle I hear this weird shutter noise it seems is coming from the back and I am not sure what it is. I checked fluid in rear end and it was a little low so I topped it off but the noise is still there. Any ideas what it could be. Only seems to be around the 45 plus MPH any slower it doesn't seem like it does it. Thanks!

Next trip @45-50 with the shutter happening, hold consistent gas pedal and lightly engage brake pedal just enough for the brake lights to come on, if shutter goes away it could be torque converter issue.. When TC shutter happens it can feel like it is front and rear. Just an idea for you if you have not done it already.

Using the brake did not stop it. Its a very intermittent noise its almost a hum/vibration very slight and it occurs only when you have your foot on the throttle but not always just here and there mostly from 35-50 mph. Im thinking either bearing or U joint?

Just curious, I am not sure .. Does that have a center carrier on the drive shaft ? You will have to crawl under and start looking and shaking things around and look for loose play.

Interesting timing! I've been having a similar vibration and ocational pinging sound at the same speed range.
Coming home today from a 200 mile round trip the sound changed, like grinding corn, goes away below 30 mph, I was 2 miles from home, got home ok so no compaints.
Carrier bearing is very loose and rubber is pulled out towards the back over a half inch. The metal flange on forward side is completely pulled off.
Tomorrow I will pull the drive shaft and replace the carrier and all three u joints. All are original on my 93 Sierra with 433,000 miles

ok that was one of my suspicions was a bearing in the rear end. Mine doesnt have near those miles on it but i will probably do that and U joint to get it all smoothed out. Thanks!!

Unfortunately it's a common problem with these trucks, mine does the same thing and has for years. I haven't tried it yet but I did a lot of research on this issue last week and the best thing I could find to anyone saying that they fixed their problem was a guy who said that he changed his coil and the problem went away.

I just dropped my driveshaft last week after having a vibration above 40mph...thankfully it broke when I was barely moving!
