so i just relized we have a brake section now i feel like a idiot lol. so i need to replace the master cylinder, i have new one however upon removing the old master cylinder, the fitting on the rear chamber is rusted to the hard line. is there a way to loosen the fitting from the hard line without damaging the line and if i need to replace the line, do i need to bend it as is or just bend it to fit? its the small hardline on rear of master cylinder that goes to the kelsy-hayes abs

Just bypass the ABS.

So I just replaced the master cylinder and when I went to bleed the abs using that little bleeder button on the side of the unit. I must have bleed that thing 30 times and it seemed like it always had air in it. And now the brakes are worse than before. I have not bled out the wheels cause I ran out of brake fluid but any idea why the abs always had air in it?

  • Replace the line
  • Bent to fit as you see fit.

I've been there as well. I ended up removing the ABS also after trying to bleed this POS system and since my truck had some 360,000 I decided to replace all the lines and hoses. After pulling the rears out I am damn sure glad I did. I know thats a major project for many ppl and my truck is not a DD so I didnt care if it sat 1/2 way done but the point is if your all rusted - check the rest of the lines. You can purchase them pre-bent but its really not that difficult to make your own.

The line you from the MC is pretty short if you choose to simply replace it and a universal line from your local auto parts store will be a fast swap. You can grab a line bender on the cheap if you want a precision look.
