We have all been there ,,,the love hate relationship with these trucks :) ...so my wipers arent working right, removed the circuit board the other night and tried to resolder all connections...even after cleaning the board with trichlor I couldnt get any solder to take ....so I then learned my wiper circuit board- the one on the left was only a 1-2 yr production run aaaargh and they simply dont make them anymore - not even Dorman .....so I decided to put a newer style wiper motor and circuit board in which I read you can . So I go to take my wipers off then the center cowl off and both wiper blades lock mechanisms disintegrate in my hand , then I break my center cowl in half - 30 yrs in the Florida heat will do that to plastic , then I drop two of the wiper motor bolts that took me 45 minutes to find as one dropped perfectly down in my chassis rail - I got it with a magnet ......so I had to simply walk away last night lol.....parts are on order but what a night from hexx with the old girl lol......

old 1-2 yr production piggy back wiper pulse board they don't make any more on the left - vs the more modern wiper pulse board they still make …..

I have the same issues with the wiper board in my 88’. What did you all end up swapping, just the board and the motor?

Great looking truck!

Tx Heap.... I did some reading around and found out a 1991 wiper assembly will supposedly fit our 88-89 trucks with the old style rectangle circuit board that is no longer made ... Cardonx p/n 40-158...45 bucks on Amazox ...pin for pin compatible and has the newer style circuit board already inside ….I will be wrapping up my install in the next few days and let you know how it works out.....you just have to transfer your 3 rubber firewall feet over to the new motor .

Picked these chrome ebay headers , gaskets and bolts for 79 shipped,,,they look great for the money and supposedly bolt right up to the stock Y pipe locations . Will let you know how they work out after install and take some pics

Good looking truck. Any other plans for it?

Thanks ....no immediate plans ....headers this year then just need to fix a few minor issues like my gas gage and a tranny dipstick seal. Next year I may get a set of nice heads and throw a little bigger cam in it after I sell my other rod . I am personally not into lowering and like its current stance etc .....so no radical changes .

Install complete , went well no leaks ....quality pieces IMO . Bolted right up to the factory Y pipe. Surprisingly it isnt any louder than the factory manifolds and you feel a slight power increase right off idle then especially in the mid range and upper rpm where it just feels like its revving freer if that makes any sense. Number 6 and 8 could use a shorty plug probably but I put in a pair of DEI insulated boots as a precaution. The Accel shorty plug p/n is Accel 0574S-4 . The flange is .38 thick too .
