Not long ago you could find heavy duty suspension components and kits for the GMT400 platform on every other page of most truck magazines etc.
Note, I don't mean lifted (or dropped). Just heavier duty components.

Is anyone aware of any remaining sources or vendors for 3/4 ton GMT400's?
I have a '99 K2500 suburban and I just want to replace the basic OEM parts with heavy duty (IE tougher, longer lasting) parts. For example, Ball Joints, Control arms, idler, pitman, steering arms etc. Next level up would be HD CV joints, front axles, springs, etc.

I knew I should have left this part in the OP.
;')

"OK, so I could just buy Moog or similar parts. They have a lifetime warranty. What have I got to lose?"

Here's the thing. Yes, those have lifetime warranties, but they don't actually last (much) longer than other parts. So then what? You get to go spend a day (or pay lots of labour to a shop) to replace your now free under warranty $20 part. What was the point?
What I'm talking about is parts that will actually last longer and stand more abuse.
Imagine you know the zombie apocalypse is coming next week, what parts you gonna put in your truck this week?

You seem to be be confusing Moog, with house brands.

Damn, For $2500 for a set of CV shafts on a 6-lug front diff, you could pay a shop to SAS and not have to worry about blowing up the ACTUAL weak link in that front end... the spider gears.

Just sayin, if you have that budget, get a set of 2.5 ton military axles for around $1000 for the pair and pay a shop to install them with all new heim joint steering components up front. You'll end up being around the same price or cheaper than upgrading all of the 6-lug stuff and you'll be WAY stronger in the end.

Its a return on investment kind of thing. How long have you had your OEM parts on there? Figure something as good as OEM should last about as long. Those RCV axles will survive the apocalypse sure, but what about the rest of that truck?

Ignore the price, it was just an example of what heavy duty means vs. Moog.
