Does anyone have a set under 300 that'll work well.? I've been searching but I'm not going to drop 450-500 on some headers. I had some flowtecs on my Monte Carlo and they lasted well. I could care less about looks just need a thick exhaust flange. Any help would be appreciated got a brand new motor with flat tops and a 480)230 cam trans has 2600 stall all built to hold way more power than I'm making. But I plan on hotrodding it a bit so want good performance perfer mid to long tunes shorties do t so much especially when I'm locking up at 2600. Thanks for any info.

I run Hedman Elite headers, had them on my C1500 and now the K1500. They have thick flanges and 14 ga tubing. They're thermal coated mild steel.

Buddy of mine put Gale Banks wildly-expensive headers on his '97 K2500 7.4L.

He said it made more difference when he scrapped the stock muffler in favor of a pair of aftermarket mufflers. The muffler was more of a choke-point than the iron manifolds. He said the OEM muffler had big inlet and outlet tubes, but was severely restricted internally.

What did you do for the rest of the exhaust on the K1500? I am trying to figure out what system to use on my 93' K1500 ext. cab short bed. I would love a true dual with no cats if it is out there.

Exhaust shop made dual 2.5" pipes into a Magnaflow y, then 3" back to a Magnaflow muffler with 3" tailpipe.
