Have a technical question about the speed sensor , I've got an '88 c1500, I've changed the rear end from a 3.08 to a 3.73. My stock speedo is off now roughly 10mph. if I install this speedo, will I still have the same issue?

There are a myriad of ways to fix your issue. I used a mechanical to electric screw in sensor to convert the signal to digital, then sent the signal to a dakota digital converter box, which converted the signal to the correct one for my speedometer.

You can also order an Autometer GPS sending unit for this cluster and have an always 100% accurate speedometer.

Here's a thread on your speedometer. Your VSS gives you 2000 PPM (pulses per mile) when I changed my gears from 3.42 to 4.11, because I have a Dakota Digital dash I was able to calibrate my speedo easily but, my ECM still thought I had 3.42 gears which threw off speeds for TCC and EGR etc. After I swapped out the ECM with the EBL Flash2 I was able to calibrate it in the computer. But you can do it with jumpers on the circuit board behind the dash.

Or as @PolarBear suggested get the Dakota Digital adapters.

still interested, trying to figure out the best way to get the speedo to work.

If the asking price, $500 + shipping is paid.

I'll include the dakota digital SGI-5E converter box and screw in hall effect sensor for the transmission.
