Got the trans solenoids and harness replaced. Torx screw head holding a shift solenoid stripped out. Not goodtimes.1hour 3tool job became a 3hour and 1/2the tools in the box job. Got er done though and now she's shifting perfectly with no noticeable slippage.
(I didn't take any pictures once the pan was down because i was covered in trans fluid for the remainder of the evening)

Decided to take it easy on Sunday. Went on a long test drive, got her up to 70, ran well. need to get a different gearset methinks.want to drop the cruise rpm a bit, thinking 3.73s should do the job nicely. Thought I'd pull the impact strips and eraser wheel the adhesive off, should be an easy 1hour job, nope. Every strip came off without a hitch, except the last door I did. Good amount of paint and a little bondo came off with it. Damn...

Fixed up the door panel. Seems a poorly done repair was the reason the paint came up.was a little rust under their filler...

The old lady thinks I should paint the lower door panels black from the body line down, a la the grey 2500. At first I was onboard, but now I'm not sure if I like that plan. And the black won't match the flares or running boards, so I probably would need to paint them also...what do y'all think? Anyone feeling photoshoppy?

Took her for a nice evening cruise. Drove well, have a rattle from a loose exhaust hanger somewhere, and the tc lockup is still being weird, but a good drive overall...also, i installed the new ckp sensor and never even checked to see if it worked, figured I'd have to adjust the spacing and whatnot since the bracket was diy on the fly. decided to scroll through the status on the trans controller when I got back and there was a tach signal with rpm! Tach on the truck is about 150 rpm low.will install the tach module in the near future.

I have a suburban with the bottom dark. There’s some pics on my thread I really need to update. https://www.gmt400.com/threads/my-1st-burban.41668/

I love the Cummins swap, whenever the 454 goes in mine that’s the plan. I should probably start trying to find one now though.

Acquired this hunk o metal yesterday from an 04 2500 burban. I wanted to change the rear gearing to 3.73 and eventually convert to disks.even though it's only a 9.5 sf this should accomplish both on the cheap. paid more for the new spring perches and shock mounts than the axle cost. New proportioning valve is on the way so the abs will soon be history as well.

Finally got back to wrenching on the truck this weekend.
The transfer case was butted right up against the torsion bar crossmember which I didn't like, so I decided to remedy that issue.
Removing the crossmember proved to be quite a pain, so I just cut it in half.

Decided to make it a 2piece bolt together, making reinstallation much easier
