IMO you really want your O2 sensor closer to the head like in the collector of your header for better reaction time. It should be a heated O2 sensor too.

Yeah my 94 has a 3wire O2. But it is not in the manifold. It's down past the Y pipe just before the cat.
Now I am thinking about going duals as would put the x pipe to get the sensor from both banks. I would put it as close as it is now as possible.

You can but it's not totally necessary for it to read both banks.
