I recently bought a 1999 3500 Crew Cab with the 7.4. It has 321,*** miles on it but runs like a champ. I suspect sometime fairly soon I'll have to rebuild it. When I do I'd like to add a supercharger. I recently caught the bug for these superchargers after seeing some online that had the Whipple supercharger. The sound, the power, they're awesome!

So what I really want to know is this: Where can I get a good supercharger for one of these engines? Whipple no longer makes them but what about a refurbished one? Or any other companies that make them for these engines? I found a couple but I wanted to know if y'all had any opinions about what superchargers are available and some pros and cons.

Thanks!

This is a completely un-researched assumption, but I'm betting a turbo would be more cost effective. A turbo system is probably more complex/labor intensive though. Sized correctly they can come into boost pretty low in the rpm range.

Either way find a good tuner or learn to tune, 0411 swap the truck, and use a boost specific operating system. I know that whipple had some sort of piggy back system for their SCs but from what i've heard its pretty garbage.

Procharger will make more top end, but a Whipple will drag a trailer up a hill locked in OD. Just gotta keep an eye on Ebay, Craigslist, Jon Bond I don't think has any in stock. He has a couple waiting for parts, but he doesn't make it a habit to stock full kits.
