Odometer has been stuck at 288 thousand and change since I got the truck three years ago. Decided to pull the cluster apart and see what was going on. Once I got it apart I found this little blue thing loose inside that looks like it was supposed to be on the back of the trip reset button.

Both of the mounting tabs broke off of it and it seems without that the trip won’t re engage properly and jams the main odometer. All the gears are intact and the motor is not seized so I’m hoping that adjusting the “spring” plate that resets the trip and having that guide attached will fix it. Anyone know where to get one of those little blue pieces?
Tossing in a few extra pics of the odometer meter unit pulled out since I couldn’t find any and it may help someone else.

Recently had mine apart. The black gear on the trip meter is a problem area. I had three cluster, and they are all broke or cracked.

So.. I have spare parts :D I'll take a look tonight and see if I have that part in one of my clusters.

Got the gauges back together and everything worked on the first try! Trip odometer is still out and different wheels on it turn at random but the main is working which should make the insurance guy happy. Would still like to have the trip working at some point. Guess I need to hit the scrapyard and look for another moonie cluster or two to scavenge. Been thinking about getting some spare gauges to remove the green backing from and do a red dash light led conversion anyway.
