Will be going this weekend to pickup a very nice 98 Silverado. Wanted to introduce myself before I asked any questions, the truck is completely stock. 5.7L Automatic swb single cab. Only plans I have for after I pick it up is to lower it some and maybe a set of rims for now.

Has just under 200k so will likely run through the suspension and see what I need as well. Rebuilt my 87' Silverado suspension for around $200 and I am thinking they may still use the same parts for the 98.

Picked it up today, it is in very good shape overall. A little rust on the passenger fender well lip but other than that its solid. Made the 50 mile drive back home no issue, plenty of power and everything seems to work other than the AC and cruise.

Haven't even looked too see if the compressor is kicking on or not yet. Got it home pulled the tool box and tonneau cover off and gave it a wash. Needs at the least two more to have it clean, then need to clean up the interior, which is in very good shape just very dusty.

Been parked under a pine tree for the last month so a lot of grime to get off, going to wash it again tomorrow and clean engine bay and interior after I get taxes paid and title swapped over in the AM. Think it was a very good deal at $3900, similar trucks selling for 5k+ here in a lot worse shape.

After washing it the paint appears to be in very good shape all around. Some scratches but nothing bad and going to buff it after washing it some more to bring out the shine.

Has new starter, battery, starter harness, radiator, water pump and fuel pump all within the last year. Oil changed 1500 miles ago.

When I first got it home-
