The new plugs, wires, cap & rotor didn't make the Burban run any better. They were obviously needed, they just didn't solve the problem. I always do a tune up on everything I buy unless the po can prove when it was last done. It's just peace of mind.
Usually when one drops a screw, one gets upset. Nope, not me, I had spares for the cap, so not a big deal. So after I climbed down from laying on top of the engine, I went & got the magnet. I dislike leaving loose stuff like that, you find it later & you go crazy trying to figure out where it belongs. This happened to be a blessing in disguise. After I fished out the screw, I saw what looked like the eyelet end of a ground wire just sitting there on the intake. I looked around a bit, felt along the harnesses & didn't feel any broken wires. Nothing looked like it had a replacement end on it. So I have no clue where it belongs. While feeling around, I did find a disconnected ground strap that was bolted to the top of the frame by the starter. I am assuming that it goes to the block. So this Sat, I'll stop @ the j/y to get a proper bolt for it reattach it.
I highly doubt that reconnecting the ground strap will fix the p0300 code, but you never know. Maybe i touched it & didn't realize it & now it's not making contact. We'll see this weekend. But @ least it's another problem that will be fixed.

As you can see in the lower left of the pic, there's the eyelet hiding amongst the acorn crap.
I gotta get the shop vac out here & blow this crap out.
