IMO that is the best place to put it.

I had duals mounted on my 97 (one functional & one dummy) and it looked alright, but a little redneck, now I just run a magnetic one and take it off when I don't use it.

What radio did you get?

It's just a Uniden Bearcat radio, a cheap little one but it'll work for me. I thought about mounting a whip on top of the cab but in the event I get a slide in camper (highly probable) I'd hate to have to relocate it every time I put the camper on the truck.

I'm struggling trying to figure out splicing for the trans, but other than that I'm eager to perform the swap.

EDIT - Got confirmation from Lextech on the trans splicing, he programmed it to not need that wiring, so now the swap is imminent.

Should both be green VSS wires that go to different connectors on the blackbox. There's only 1 hole on the 411 and both wires go to it. There is a notes section that ought to mwntion this.

This is exciting now.

BTW, You can now tune that thing all you'd like for all the power it can make if you really wanted to with that box. I mean, you're not cammed (yet). You can now easily upgrade injectors though, fiddle with your idle, all of the nit-picky crap that you can't do without a tune.

I will say this. I like my tune right now, as it's basically turned into a giggle machine. I love driving it, but at the same time I'm getting 8MPG (Yes, 8) by letting the motor have all it wants like it's basically carb'd.

I'd suggest that for the future when/if you get your own tuning software that you make your base tune, then your "OMG I NEEDA FLOOR IT TIME TO LAY DOWN STRIPES" tune, then dial back the power enrichment so it actually comes in when you need it. You'll probably get 13-14mpg putting around but still have power on-tap. I'm going to be setting mine to come on at vacuum levels seen at around 50% throttle to try to get my milage back.

I'll check back through my pinout to see if that is mentioned anywhere, I've gone through it like five times and it still seems I'm missing one or two things to do,

I'll probably keep it relatively mild tuning wise, for now. I'm going to stick with the tune Lextech programmed until I can get a session scheduled with PCM of NC, $500 is a bit of a hard pill to swallow. I do believe it is a dyno tune though.
I'd like to get headers, exhaust, ignition components, and some trans stuff beefed up before I go in. Not to mention I'd like to get a wideband O2 sensor in and get an AFR gauge wired up,

I filled up my truck today and did the math, 8.8 miles to the gallon. Yeesh.

You guys must do a lot of city driving, or slowing down and speeding back up? Supercharged, you're truck is probably just going to be a pig but i'd really expect the 2500s to do better. When i used to DD my truck I'd get 12.5 or so depending on weather, though this is 15 hw miles each way with limited stops. Highway cruising i can get 14 pretty easily as long as i don't go over 70. Granted to get these numbers I do my best to stay out of it, if I'm driving aggressively its a different story.

I've got a relatively short commute; maybe 5 miles to work, but there's quite a few stop signs along the way, my gf's house is about 15 minutes away though, honestly I probably got the best gas mileage cruising 70 on the interstate, 13.5, and that was on 285s!

Plus I think there's a sensor or two that have gotten lazy over time, I'm curious to see if I'll have a situation similar to @Mangonesailor where something is going wrong, but not causing enough of an issue to throw a code, but once I swap it'll show up.
